Challenge
What if you could create a digital ordering flow straight into your restaurant kitchen – entirely on your own, without expensive consultancy fees? What if it could be up and running in just 20 minutes? That is exactly what PubQ made possible with its new SaaS solution for restaurants. Instead of relying on apps and traditional POS systems – still the norm among competitors – PubQ wanted to give customers the freedom to build their own mobile ordering journey. Our task was to rethink the visual identity and develop a communication concept that could help PubQ challenge the category at its core.
Solution
The restaurant industry has been relatively slow to embrace digital transformation, so our initial focus was on early adopters, estimated to represent around 10% of the market. The primary target group consisted of fast-food businesses – especially outdoor serving venues, bars, and pizzerias. Inspired by Thomas Edison’s quote, “There’s a way to do it better – find it,” we developed a set of key communication principles and the concept “Put your restaurant business in future mode”.
Result
With a youthful, confident tone of voice, PubQ was launched as the world’s simplest digital purchasing experience for the restaurant industry. Guaranteed app-free.

The number design got its inspiration from a so called "bongskrivare", that prints out the order in the kitchen.
